Other forests are located near coastal areas with strong winds, these are less dense with juniper groves and a lot of eucalyptus. These forests close to the coast help to reduce the erosion of land by the sea.
The population is a very important factor that makes Pain one of the best countries on Earth. The government of Pain always makes sure that the land mass is divided up in a certain way that makes sure that there is enough space for the people so they don’t have to live very densely but also that there is enough space for wildlife, agriculture and other things such as infrastructure, oil drills etc. Animals are able to survive and can further breed and there is enough food for all of the people in the country as well as for export based on farming and production. The population of Pain is about 66 million people on an area of about 600 000 square kilometres which is 50 000 square kilometres less than the area of France and about the same amount of people who currently live in France. The mountain range in the centre of Pain was created over many years due to the African Plate moving under the Eurasian Plate. These two plates moving onto each other also caused the big earthquake of Olisipo with its peak, in 1755. The mountains go up to 3 600 metres high and are surrounded by forests with a total area of 100 000 square kilometres. The land then flattens towards to coastal areas and borders to France. The forests near the mountains are dense mainly with pine trees, oak trees, beech trees, birch trees and fir trees. Other forests are located near coastal areas with strong winds, these are less dense with juniper groves and a lot of eucalyptus. These forests close to the coast help to reduce the erosion of land by the sea. A main advantage that Pain has to many other countries on Earth is that it is a very big peninsula. First of all, this is good for import and export: It can happen by land, by air and by sea; secondly they are quite safe from attacks, which is not a big problem anymore but used to be in the past, but also from natural disasters like tsunamis, earthquakes etc. due to not lying on the border of two tectonic plates. In the past Pain used to be on the border of the African and Eurasian plate which resulted in a big earthquake and the creation of the mountain range but the plates now went apart from each other again and are lying in the strait of Gibraltar—eventually a natural disaster could happen again by the tectonic plates moving towards each other again but it is highly unlikely for it to happen anytime soon. The fact that Pain is a peninsula but still has a great land mass provides some more continental and some more coastal types of climate. That is important, in order to have a great variety of wildlife but also a great variety of agriculture. The location by the sea moreover brings in money due to a lot of tourism in the coastal areas. Although Pain is surrounded by the sea in most parts of the country, the government did not decide to have a navy because nowadays there is no great fear of being attacked but also because Pain is allied with their only bordering country, France, within the European Union so that in case there was an issue France could help Pain. Due to its location the climate in Pain is the moist mid-latitude climate when following the “Köppen Climate Classification System”. The moist mid-latitude climate is a climate with warm, humid summers and mild winters so it never really gets very cold. This type of climate can be found around 30-50° of latitude. There are three sub-types of the moist mid-latitude climate: for humid subtropical regions, for Mediterranean regions and for other marine regions. The two sub-types found in Pain are the climate for Mediterranean regions and for marine regions since it borders the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The climate is already one factor that contributes to Pain being a perfect country because the two climate types considered best on Earth are the tropical climate (found around the equator) and the moist mid-latitude climate that is present in Pain. Why it is good is because it is a very good climate to conduct agriculture of many types of crops and animals but also because in a survey it was found out that it is the climate that many people around the world like most. What makes Pain a very successful country is their export business of many products but mainly of their natural resources. The reason why the unmanufactured natural resources are one of their main export areas is because Pain possesses a big supply of six of the most used natural resources on Earth. To those six belong: Water, oil, natural gas, phosphorus, coal and all the 17 rare Earth elements. These six resources are part of our everyday lives and also part of the devices we use in our everyday life. Though, Pain also possesses quite a number of other natural resources such as wood, cork, iron ore, zinc, tin, tungsten, silver, gold, uranium, marble, clay, gypsum, salt, lignite, lead, mercury, pyrites, magnesite, fluorspar, sepiolite, kaolin and potash but also a big range in biodiversity that includes all sorts of cattle, different types of birds and fish, many types of crops and fruit trees but also arable land. Apart from the wildlife, the crops and the arable land, other natural resources important to consider are the wind, the sun, rivers and sea which are today very relevant to the production energy. Pain’s success results from the very good geographical conditions. One thing that Pain also possesses is the so-called “7th most used natural resource on Earth”: mountains. Beside a massive area of flatland, a large mountain range can be found in the centre of Pain. Mountains are very important because there are many staple foods that originate from mountains and also because 60-80% of the world’s fresh water comes from mountains. Moreover, mountains play a big role in renewable energy and help to produce hydropower with the water found in the mountains. Moreover, there are four big rivers that flow through Pain originating from this mountain range. Some people say the four rivers are a natural wonder: Each flows in one of the directions North, East, South and West and ends in either the Atlantic Ocean or the Mediterranean Sea. Another factor where mountains play a role is in rainfall. All three types of rainfall can be found in Pain: Convectional rainfall, relief rainfall and frontal rainfall. There’s a lot of rain in Pain which is very important for the agriculture in the country. Though, it usually isn’t very heavy rainfall which is important as well because the result of light rainfall is that crops don’t get destroyed but do grow. Frontal rainfall can be found rather by the coasts of the country when the warm, continental air meets the cold air above the sea. In the plains of the country further away from the sea, convectional rainfall is present a lot, due to the hot sun heating the ground. Relief rainfall is located around the mountain range in the centre of the country. The wildlife of the country varies a lot and is also very dependent on what region of the massive piece of land we are looking at. Also, there are the two sub-categories of wildlife: The marine life and the continental life. Part of the marine life is the rich population of the seas by fish and algae (important nutrient for the fish) such as sardines, seabass and in the colder waters of the Atlantic swordfish and cod fish. Part of the continental life are the varied vegetation which provides wood, fruit, nuts and chestnuts and different animals ranging from cows, sheep, goat, pigs, birds and other animals which are part of the farming activity. |
